The prophet SW said: Rajab is the month of Allah, Shaban is my month and
Ramazan is the month of my followers (Ummah), and he who fasts once in the
month of Rajab, Allah SWT will be pleased with him, he will excluded from
Allah’s anger and one door of hell will be closed for him.
Imam Musa Kazim (as) said: he who fasts once in the month of Rajab, the distance between him and the fire of hell will prolonged one year And Jannah becomes obligatory on those who fast for three days in this month. Imam (as) also said that Rajab is the name of a lake in Jannah which is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey; and those who fast once in the month of Rajab will drink from that lake.
Imam Jaffer Sadiq (as) said: Allah SWT makes obligatory upon Himself to respect those who fast in the month of Rajab. And the person who fasts once in the last days of this month Allah SWT will prevents him from the hardship of death, fear after death and punishment of the grave. Furthermore he who performs two fasts in the last days of this month will walk the Sirat with ease; and he who fasts three times in the last days of this month will be prevented from the extreme fear of the Day of Judgement and its hardship and fear. And will receive a letter on the day of judgement which will state that he is exempt from the fire of hell.
It has been narrated that he who fasts on any Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the month of Rajab is rewarded with the sawab of nine hundred years of ibadah.
And he who is not able to perform fasts in this month, should recite the following tasbeeh hundred times daily in order to receive the sawab of fasting:
سُبْحَانَ الاِلٰهِ الْجَلِیْلِ، سُبْحَانَ مَنْ لَا یَنْبَغِیْ التَّسْبِیْحُ اِلَّا لَه، سُبْحَانَ الْاَعَزِّ الاَکْرَمِ، سُبْحَانَ مَنْ لَبِسَ الْعِزَّ وَھُوَ لَه اَھْلٌ۔
(Isteghfar استغفار)
The prophet (PBUH) said: he who recites اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللہَ الَّذِیْ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلّا ھُوَ وَحْدَہ لَاشَرِیْکَ لَه وَ اَتُوْبُ اِلَیْهِ hundred times in the month of Rajab and gives sadaqah (charity) after this Isteghfar Allah will shower his blessings on him and will give him forgiveness. And the person who recites this Isteghfar 400 times Allah will give him the sawab of hundred Martyrs.
The Prophet (PBUH) said: he who recites لَا اِلٰهَ اِلّا اللہthousand times in the month of Rajab will be rewarded hundred thousand good deeds (حسنات) and Allah will create hundred cities for him in Jannah.
According to the narrations, he who recites اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللہَ وَ اَتُوبُ اِلَیْهِ 70 times in the morning and 70 times at Zuhr, and each time after finishing this raises his hands and recites اَللّھُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِیْ وَ تُبْ عَلَیَّ once, if he dies in the month of Rajab, Allah will be pleased with him and the fire of hell will not touch him.
During this month, to ask Allah for forgiveness of sins, one should recite this Istegfar thousand times:
اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللہَ ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِکْرَامِ مِنْ جَمِیْعِ الذُّنُوبِ وَالآثَامِ
It has been narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said to recite surah قل ھو اللہ احد either, ten thousand, one thousand or one hundred times in this month. And it has also been narrated that he who recites this surah hundred times on Friday of the month of Rajab will be awarded with a light (Noor) which will guide him to Jannah.
